SRINAGAR: The state cabinet is meeting on Tuesday at Civil Secretariat here during which it is expected to finalize the relief and rehabilitation proposal package for the earthquake affected people of Chenab Valley.
Sources said that the cabinet would also discuss the demands of the revenue officials (patwaris) and it was likely that it may give nod to remove the pay anomaly of the patwaris. However, they maintained that the cabinet may once again defer the much awaited reshuffle in Police. The reshuffle was first time deferred last month when the cabinet had met in Jammu shortly before the Durbar Move.
Meanwhile, a senior minister wishing anonymity said that some minor transfers may take place during the meet. The cabinet will sit at 2 PM in Civil Secretariat and would be presided over by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. However, the participation of four of its senior members is unlikely as al of them are camping in the quake hit Chenab Valley. (KNS)
