Family Stages Protest, Seeks CBI Help
SRINAGAR:Family of Mehran Latif Mir from Babapora, Habbakadal staged a protest on Monday against the government failure to trace their missing son.
Despite passing of five years, police is yet to locate whereabouts of Mehran then 3 and now 8, who went missing from Habba Kadal area of Shaher-e-Khaas in 2008.
The parents of Mehran along with relatives appeared in Press Enclave Srinagar and demanded that case should be immediately handed over to CBI. They were carrying placards and the photographs of missing Meharan.
The father of Mehran, Mohammad Latif said that politicians played politics over their missing son and no genuine efforts were made to trace Mehran. Had Mehran been the son of a politician or industrialist, he would have been traced out within days. But I am poor and helpless and no one took the matter of my missing son seriously, he said.
The mother of Mehran with tearful eyes appealed the government to hand over the case to CBI.
Mehran Latif Mir a student Canny Mission School at Court Road went missing in 2008 when he had gone out from his house to buy candies. He was last seen when he left his Haba Kadal home for the shop.
