SRINAGAR: The Chief Ministers political secretary Tanvir Sadiq Thursday hit at Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti calling her statement an epitome of skulduggery.
This has become PDPs and her trait to always play politics on peoples misfortune just to score brownie points said Tanvir adding This has now become their regular feature
This ridiculous statement has proven beyond doubt that her visit to the earthquake affected areas is just to play politics and not sincerely share the pain and grief of the people affected by the recent earthquake, he said.
Reminding her of 2005 the CMs political secretary said, When earthquake struck Kashmir in 2005 it was National Conference which came in front and truck loads of blankets and essentials were send to the affected areas, while the then government headed by her father was sleeping and dreaming of an extension in their term. On the contrary as soon as the earthquake struck Kishtawar and adjoining areas the whole administration was geared up to provide immediate relief.
25 crores were sanctioned immediately for relief and rehabilitation and ministers were stationed in Baderwah, Kishtawar and Doda, adding, Three months of free ration was also sanctioned along with blankets, tents and other material to ensure people dont face any problems.
This government headed by Omar does not believe in playing politics on peoples misfortune but to ensure that all the relief is provided without delay, adding, Had the Chief Minister or the Ministers visited the affected areas initially then the whole administration would have been busy with them and all the relief work would have been halted, adding, Omar monitored the day to day progress himself and the result is evident on ground.
PDP has only used the people as fodder to meet their political narrow ends. They have survived on deception and slur so far, petty politics has been PDPs trait since its inception and it is least concerned with the welfare of the people. It is a very well known fact that PDP and their leaders are famous for their intrigue, dirty machinations, he said.
She should worry about her own party to set it in order which has been struck by major rebellion and then comment on the Chief Minister or his Cabinet, said Tanvir.
