SRINAGAR: A medico was apprehended by the police for allegedly depositing fake currency in Jammu and Kashmir Bank in South Kashmirs Shopian district.
Eyewitnesses said that branch manager of Pinjura Shopian called the police when one of employees complained that a customer was trying to deposit Rs 45,000 in which Rs 30,000 were found fake.
Station House Officer Shopian confirmed the arrest of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, resident of Mohanpora Trenz and said that a case under section 420 and 489A vide FIR number 64/2013 has been registered against him.
Reports said that the said person had pleaded not guilty and had claimed that he had received all the cash from a dealer, however the Bank employees didnt budge and handed him over to police.
