SRINAGAR: Police on Thursday raided a photostat shop in Ganderbal district and recovered hundreds of fake Permanent Resident Certificates (PRC) along with fake stamps and affidavits.
Police sources said that the proprietors of Hyderia Photostat Tariq Ahmed Ganaie son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganaie and Aijaz Ahmed Wagay son of Ghulam Mohammad Wagay both residents of Beehama, Ganderbal were preparing forged PRCs to people for quite some time.
A police official said that both the culprits after preparing a forged state subject certificate for one Basharat Nazir Para advised him to get the certificate signed by District Development Commissioner Ganderbal.
DDC, Ganderbal, Sarmad Hafiz after analyzing the certificate caste some doubts and called police and we accordingly raided the shop and recovered all the illegal material there, police official said.
Both the proprietors of the shop have been arrested and a case under section 420 vide FIR number 77/2013 have been registered against them. (CNS)
