Srinagar: The Srinagar Chapter of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India organized a special lecture on Personality and Professional Development which was attended by the students pursuing company secretary ship, practicing Company Secretaries and other distinguished personalities. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Sushman Sharma, faculty at HNG (State) University of Gujarat. The session was presided over by Parvez Ahmad, J&K Bank Executive President, who is also Chairman of ICSI Srinagar Chapter. Notably, the event was sponsored by the J&K Bank.
While addressing the gathering during the session, Parvez Ahmad stressed upon the need for personality development that helps to adopt ourselves in different situations and circumstances and perform our duties efficiently and effectively. He highlighted the role Srinagar Chapter is playing for development of profession of Company Secretaries in Kashmir region.
The resource person Prof. Sushman Sharma gave a detailed account of various dimensions of personality development based on various theories including cognitive and psychoanalytical theories of personality development. This was followed by an interactive session and the resource person responded to the queries of the participants. The students exhibited tremendous interest in the discussions and their inquisitiveness was highly appreciated by the resource person.
The session was also addressed by Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Nika who stressed upon the need for development of all the faculties of the students in the organized education system so as to make them relevant to the highly competitive market. Among others who were present on the occasion include CMA Parvez Ahmad Bazaz, CS Najmul Hussain, CS Gulam Jeelani, CS. Irfan Ahmad and Prof. Noor Muhammad. The session ended with a vote thanks presented by the student Azhar Chisti.
