SRINAGAR: A man was axed to death during a clash between two groups in south Kashmir district of Shopian, official sources said here today.
They said two groups clashed over some dispute at Sokha Sarai in Shopian.
The rival groups used lathis and other weapons against each other, the sources said. One Fazuluddin Khatana was seriously injured when he was allegedly hit by an axe by Mohammad Aslam Chachi, a resident Rajouri in the incident.
He was rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead.
A murder case has been registered, they said adding that a massive hunt has been launched against the accused who fled away after committing the crime. Agencies
