SRINAGAR: Contradicting the claims of MLA Tral that unidentified gunmen fired scores of rounds on his residence, police Tuesday said that the police personnel guarding the residence of MLA Tral, Mushtaq Ahmed Shah had fired two rounds in air by mistake. It can be termed as an incident of misfiring, SHO, Tral, Mohammad Saleem said.
Earlier, Peoples Democratic Party leader and sitting MLA, Shah had claimed that during late hours some unidentified gunmen fired upon his residence indiscriminately. I was present during the incident. Scores of rounds were fired upon but fortunately, no loss of property or life occurred. My guards retaliated and the unknown gunmen fled from the scene, he said.
SHO, Tral said that there was no firing. No one fired upon his residence. Police party visited his residence in the morning and investigations reveal that his guards had fired accidently in air. It can be termed as missing fire incident, he said.
