SRINAGAR: A mudslide swept a Tata-Mobile vehicle, loaded with chickens, deep into a gorge on Srinagar-Kargil Road near Captain Mode, Zo-jila today. Police said that two persons including the driver were referred to hospital in critical condition while one person was still missing and feared dead.
According to reports, a Tata-Mobile (JK15-6485) carrying chicken from Srinagar to Kargil met with an accident near Captain Mode when a mudslide hit it and pushed it deep into a gorge.
The driver Javid Ahmed Malik from Inderkot, Sumbal and Abdul Hamid Wani also from Sumbal were retrieved from the gorge in critical condition and shifted to nearby hospital. Police said that another person Gulzar Ahmed Kaloo from Naninara, Sumbal was still missing and efforts were on to trace him. Police feared he may have died.
