SRINAGAR: To remove the bottlenecks for ensuring the smooth plying of traffic in Srinagar City, besides on the inter-district roads, District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah today conducted an extensive tour of the district to take on spot measures.
Among others, SP Traffic, SE R&B, Beacon Authorities and other officers accompanied the District Development Commissioner.
District Development Commissioner urged upon the concerned officers to remove the encroachments on the road side at Pantha Chowk and Shalteng crossings for smooth traffic movement, besides mitigating the inconvenience caused to the commuters. At Pantha Chowk, Mr. Shah directed the R&B authorities to rehabilitate the people whose structures within the alignment are to be demolished, with 45 days at the alternate sites. He hoped that removal of bottlenecks at Pantha Chowk and Shalteng crossings shall improve the traffic movement in the city.
The DDC also urged that illegal constructions and encroachments shall be removed at Shalteng crossing with weeks time to ensure smooth plying of traffic
