SRINAGAR: Veteran communist leader Prakash Karat today cautioned government that anger was brewing among Kashmiri people over the execution of Mohammad Afzal Gruu.
Talking to reporters in New Delhi, CPI (M) leader Prakash Karat said that he has not an iota of doubt that Kashmiri people are angry over the hanging of Afzal Guru. There is lot of anger among people and if we say we have done good to execute Afzal then I m sorry to state that we committed a blunder, he said.
Septuagenarian CPI (M) leader said that it is inappropriate to say that whole nation rejoiced over the execution of Afzal Guru. No, not everyone rejoiced. People knew that it was a politically motivated decision but I must tell you that people of Kashmir mourned the execution of Afzal and anger is brewing among Kashmiri people. We must address the problems of Kashmiri people. There is lot of resentment against the system. Youth are being pushed back. Until and unless the government will not address the problems of people, Kashmir will continue to burn, he said.
