SRINAGAR: In a significant development towards revocation of controversial Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), State Congress Prof. Saifudin Soz said that revocation of AFSPA issue would be discussed in the coalition coordination committee (CC) meeting to be held shortly.
He said an effort would be made towards revocation of AFSPA.
He said that he had also written a letter to Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde urging him to hold a meeting with CM Omar Abdullah in this regard. Omar Abdullah is the head of Unified Command and I have written to Shinde Sahab to hold a meeting with State Chief Minister to discuss the proper timing to revoke AFSPA, Soz said.
