SRINAGAR: Pir Saifullah of Tehreek Hurriyat was released Thursday evening from the Srinagar Central Jail but was immediately put under house arrest at his residence.
According to family sources, he was released on health grounds while other separatist leaders including Chairman Democratic Front Party (DFP) are still lodged in Central Jail Srinagar.
Saifullah was released at 8:30pm on health grounds on 28th February. He was operated upon six months in Delhi hospital for Brain Tumor. He has to go through MRI test in SMHS hospital, said family members of Saifullah.
Various resistance leaders including Saifullah were arrested on February 9 after the execution of Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru. Meanwhile, Senior executive member of APHC (M) and Chairman DFP Shabir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Yousuf Fallahi and Mir Hafizullah are still lodged in Central Jail Srinagar. (KNS)
