SRINAGAR: Lashing out at the state government to allowing VHP chief Praveen Togadia to escape law, MLA Langate Er Rashid has accused state government of adopting double standards while dealing with Kashmiris.
While addressing a public meet at Kultoora Langate today he said that the way state government received VHP chief Parveen Togadia at Jammu airport and sent him back has exposed the helplessness of Omar Abdullah government.
A layman can understand that state government should have arrested Parveen Togadya as he was already required by Rajori Police in an FIR lodged against him last year for his communal speech delivered against Muslims, he said.
Er Rashid said that Omar Abdullah should have shown some responsibly and courage to allow the law to take its own course.
“It is strange that till recent past state govt has been excusing that it had sent various police Parties to different parts of the country to arrest Togadya but he could not be traced out. Now when Togadya had dared to step into the state, he was sent back, he said.
