SRINAGAR: Members of the Kashmir Bar Association took out a protest march in Srinagar during curfew break Thursday, demanding mortal remains Afzal Guru, who was hanged and buried at Tihar Central Jail in Delhi on February 09.
We are demanding the mortal remains of his (Afzal) body. This is our prime demand at this juncture, said Bashir Ahmad, a lawyer.
Meanwhile The National Conference today criticized the High Court Bar Association on their statement that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah gave consent to the hanging of Afzal Guru calling it an utter lie fabricated with a malicious intent.
It is very unfortunate and disappointing that HCBA has come out with a statement that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has given consent to the hanging of Afzal Guru, whiles on the contrary Mr. Omar Abdullah wasnt required to give consent nor was his consent sought before the decision was taken said NC spokesman adding they are deliberately trying to incite people.
If by spreading lies they are practicing their profession, we can only but imagine the plight of the people they represent in the court rooms, said the spokesman.
