SRINAGAR: Authorities Wednesday relaxed curfew restrictions in some areas of Srinagar and other towns of the Kashmir Valley to enable residents to buy essential commodities even as most parts of Kashmir remained under restrictions for the fifth consecutive day.
“Curfew has been lifted from Nigeen, Lal Bazaar and Zakura police station areas in the city,” a police spokesman said.
He said curfew has been relaxed “indefinitely” in police stations Ram Munshi bagh, Kothibagh, Saddar, Rajbagh and Shergarhi adding the restrictions will not be imposed in these areas if the situation remains peaceful.
Likewise curfew was relaxed in Budgam district from 10-2 PM, in Pulwama district relaxation was given in Kakapora, Lassipora, Rajpora and in Awantipora from 9 a.m onwards.
In north Kashmirs Kupwara district the relaxation was given in Kupwara, Kralpora, Sogam, Lalpora from 10 a.m onwards.
Authorities had relaxed curfew for three hours in these five police station areas last evening and the relaxation period passed off without any untoward incident. Agencies
