SRINAGAR: What you can expect from this Government which lodges even an elected representative in cell for raising his voice against injustice.
Kashmiris are helpless and before the might of State Government they cant do anything. Kashmir is a police state which is manned by men in uniform. This was stated by member Legislative Assembly, Eng. Rashid who continues to be in detention at Handwara police station for the fourth day after he was arrested while leading a procession protesting against the execution of Afzal Guru.
While talking to CNS from Handwara Police Stataion, Eng Rashid termed Omar Abdullah as the weakest and immature Chief Minister saying that it is irony that Omar is trying to give an impression that he was not informed beforehand about the execution of Afzal Guroo. Both Omar and Mehbooba are doing drama. Had they been serious over the issue of Afzal, they would have supported my resolution in Assembly. At that point of time I was labeled as IB and Indian agent. Rashid said and added that Kashmirs have lost their self respect and he mulling to quit politics because Kashmiri politicians are immorally worthless.
Omar is concerned with law and order and to save his skin he wants to establish peace by hook or crook. He is not concerned with self respect; in fact no politician in Kashmir has any self-respect before people. I wonder how they breathe. Rashid said and added that even if a Kashmiri wish to be an Indian, the Government of India kicks at his back and forces him to change the line.
