SRINAGAR: Landslides triggered by heavy rains and snowfall have closed the Srinagar-Jammu, the Kashmirs Valley lone supply line.
Authorities closed the highway after landslides at Ramsu and Ramban, and snowfall in Qazigund, Banihal and the Jawahar Tunnel, reports said.
Rains were still on in the tract and more landslides could not be ruled out, traffic police officers said.
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) responsible for the maintaining the highway was working overtime to open the route, they said, adding that bad weather was hampering road clearing operations. The weather bureau has already r heavy to very heavy rains and snowfall for two days from Tuesday in the Pirpanjal range which the highway traverses.
