SRINAGAR: An official probe into last months firing in Pulwama has been extended by another month after it failed to submit its report on the due date.
The additional district development commissioner of Pulwama had been directed to submit his report by January 11 after inquiring into the incident in which a number of civilians were injured after forces personnel opened fire in the face of belligerent crowds following the death of two Kashmiri LeT militants in an encounter.
Officers conducting the probe had asked for more time as, according to sources, they were facing problems in getting eyewitnesses to record their statements.
Shopkeepers and pedestrians who were witnesses to the incident are unwilling to record their statements in the inquiry, sources said.
