SRINAGAR: Two students of the Department of Convergent Journalism, Central University of Kashmir (CUK), have bagged the third prize in the short YouTube video competition organised by the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and Open Source Drug Discovery (OSDD) in collaboration with Vigyan Prasar, Government of India.
The prize, which included trophy, citation and a cash prize of Rs 25,000, was given to the students by the chief guest Amol Palekar, noted parallel cinema actor and Oscar nominated director of Paheli, on January 7 at National Science Council Museum, Kolkata during the Indian Science Congress 2013.
The video titled ‘TB the Global Burden’ made by Sameer Javid Wani and Mukhtiyar Ahmad, semester third students of the Department of Convergent Journalism, was shortlisted for the competition along with 22 other entries from a total of 175 submissions made from all over India.
The competition was open to all producers, private and government, individuals as well as production agencies and organisations, media centers, television channels and media schools across India.
