Omar Never Tweeted on Mass Graves, People Killed by Forces
SRINAGAR: Commenting on the incidents of firing between Indian and Pakistani troops on the Line of Control, Hurriyat Conference (G) head Syed Ali Geelani today said that such undesirable incidents and loss of precious human lives will continue, unless the Kashmir dispute was resolved as per aspirations of the people.
Geelani said in a statement from Delhi that there were apprehensions that in future a small incident may add fuel to the fire which in turn may even create a disastrous situation and destruction beyond our imagination.
In case the two countries cease to show reluctance and resolve the differences, the situation may turn ugly because of their nuclear weapons, he said.
Geelani added that the countries all over the world are striving for peace and over all progress in every walk of life but the two countries of Asian continent viz India and Pakistan were in a state of tension and war. The major part of their budget is alloted for defense purposes while on the other hand the common people are deprived off their basic amenities and are living below poverty line, he lamented.
Syed Ali Geelani added that three major wars between the two neighbours and persistent cold war scenario was due to the unresolved status of Jammu and Kashmir.
Referring to the Line of Control Geelani said that hundreds and thousands of Kashmirs and even the Indo Pak soldiers have lost their lives due to this.
Syed Ali Geelani expressed his concern over the indifference towards the Kashmir dispute and said that the both countries have fought three wars and possibility of similar trouble and war and destruction caused thereof cannot be overruled.
Referring the remarks Chief Minister Omer Abdullah on twitter, Syed Ali Geelani said that Omer Abdullah Should ought to have commented the same way regarding six thousand unmarked graves. No body knows who is lying in these graves, why they were massacred and what was the motive behind this. He is accountable for those who were arrested in broad day light and till now are not traced and their relatives are moving from pillar to post, he added.
Syed Ali Geelani added that the anxiety shown by Omer Abdullah bear no importance as he never enquired about those innocent youth and students killed during the mass uprising in 2010. The killers were never questioned or brought to book.
