Mining Lease of willful royalty defaulter to be cancelled: Slathia
JAMMU, JANUARY 8:- The Minister For Industries and Commerce, Mr. S.S. Slathia todaly called upon the mining Industries to pay royalty dues as early as possible adding that mine lease deeds of all the willful defaulters will be cancelled shortly.
Interacting with a delegation of Federation Chamber of Industries (FCI), Kashmir at Civil Secretariat on Tuesday, Mr. Slathia said some Industrialists have become habitual of retaining royalty due with them without any reason or logic despite repeated reminders which is causing loss to the State Exchequer. He said the Government will now act tough against all such willful defaulters.
Salathia said Government has initiated a process to revisit the existing State Industrial Policy, which is expiring in 2015, to form a broad based blue print for a new Industrial policy, in which all the stake holder including members of the FCI(K) and FCI(J) will also be taken on board. He assured the delegates that the price preference to SSI units in purchases and supplies through J&K SCIOP will be ensured and the relevant circular in this regard shall be enforced with full vigor. He said Government will explore all available channels to provide marketing cover to the SSI units of the State. He said that every possible effort will be made to provide modern fire control systems in each Industrial Estate including the Industrial estate of Lassipora, Pulwama. A modern fire station have already been established in Industrial Estate Rangreth.
The FCI delegates, particularly, made a reference about construction of large number of school buildings under RAMSA, through single tender system by (PWDD), R&B which goes against the interest of the SSI sector and sought option for SSI units also in these works. They are sought amnesty on loans in favour of the viable sick units, who want to clear their out standings in one go.
The delegates also demanded allotment of suitable pieces of land at Jammu and Kashmir to the FCI,J and FCI,K for construction of Guest Houses for the use of its members and entrepreneurs during their visit to the twin cities in connection with their tours.
The Commissioner/Secretary, R&B Department, Mrs. Tanveer Jehan, President, FCI(K) Mr. Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, senior Vice President, Mohammad Ashraf Mir , Vice President Javid Ahmad Bhat, Secretary General, Nazir Ahmad Sheikh and District President Anantnag G.M. Tramboo were also in the meeting.
