SRINAGAR: Two persons were killed and nine others were injured in different road accident in the Kashmir valley on Monday. Both accidents involved speeding Sumo vehicles.
A speeding Tata Sumo bearing registration number Jk01J/9836 hit an eighty year old Fatima wife of Ghulam Muhammad Sofi resident of Kripalpora Payeen, Pattan near Hanjiveera, Pattan, resulting in her on the spot death.
Meanwhile, a Tata Sumo turned turtle near Lawaypora, in the jurisdiction of Parimpora, Srinagar, resulting in injuries to eight passengers. All the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. However, Kifayat Hussain Bhat son of Abdul Rahim resident of Singhpora, Baramulla succumbed to his injuries. Police has registered a case in this regard.
In another accident, a passenger vehicle-407 bearing registration number JK01D/3990 hit a Maruti car bearing registration number JK04B/2359 near Sekidafar Chowk, resulting in injuries to a passenger. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.
In another accident, a Tata load carrier bearing registration number Jk04B/6118 collided with an Alto car bearing registration number Jk13B/8322 near a school, in the jurisdiction of Police Sadder, Srinagar, resulting in injuries to the Alto driver Farooq Ahmad Bhat resident of Shopian.
