SRINAGAR: Secretary to Government, Animal/Sheep Husbandry, Mr. M. A. Bukhari today convened a meeting of officers of Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments to review the pace of progress registered by these departments.
The Secretary reviewed the progress of data verification and compilation of 19th livestock census in J&K State. The constitution of Animal Welfare Board in the state was also deliberated upon thoroughly.
The Secretary issued instructions to expedite the process for constitution of the Board which is a path breaking initiative in the field of Animal Welfare in the state.
Other important issues deliberated upon included the progress of Rural Backyard Poultry Scheme, Sheep Development Programmes and Disease Monitoring.
The Director Animal Husbandry, Kashmir, Dr. G.R. Mir, Director Sheep Husbandry, Kashmir, Mr. Javeed Ahmad Shah and senior officers of twin departments were present in the meeting.
