SRINAGAR: The chairman of the Hurriyat (G), Syed Ali Shah Geelani, has asked the Pakistan government to play its role in securing the release of Bangladeshs Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Prof Aazam.
Expressing concern at the aging JI leaders health, Geelani said that the Sheikh Hasina government had launched a crackdown on pro-Islam forces in the country, and asked Islamabad to use its influence to end Dhakas adventurism against religious organisations.
Geelani also asked Muslim organisations in India and Pakistan to co-opt the OIC in seeking the 90-year-old leaders release from jail.
