SRINAGAR: Baramulla police arrested the treasurer of St. Joseph Hr. Secondary School Baramulla for fraudulently withdrawing 42 lakhs from CP Fund of the employees of the school. The charge sheet was filed against the accused in the court of law on July 12.
Principal St. Joseph Hr. Secondary School Baramulla lodged a complaint alleging therein that while scrutinizing the books of accounts pertaining to C.P Fund of staff members of institute huge discrepancies were observed. Preliminary investigations revealed that there has been a huge withdrawal and transfer of the money from the individual CP Fund accounts of a number of school employees without their consent and knowledge, said a police statement.
A case FIR No: 139/2012 under section 420, 467, 468, 471, 406 RPC was registered and investigation was initiated. A special investigation team was constituted under the supervision of DySP Hqr Baramulla. Special Investigating Team seized documents/withdrawal forms, paying-in-slips from J&K Bank Branch Baramulla, the statement added.
During the investigation, it came to light that The CP Fund were withdrawn by the treasurer Javid Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Mohammad Wani resident of Delina who maintained the accounts pertaining to CP Fund and was also the treasurer of the CP Funds, by forging the signatures of the Principal and staff members.
Police said a charge sheet was filed today against the culprit in the court of law.
