SRINAGAR: A 19 year old girl was crushed to death by Qazigund- Baramulla train in Central Kashmirs Budgam district, early Thursday.
Rukhsana alias Rukaya (19), daughter Ghulam Qadir Mir , a resident of Nadigam, died on the spot after being hit by the train near Nadigam railway track at around 10:15 am, a police official said.
The train was heading to Budgam from Srinagar, he said, adding that it was not immediately known whether the girl committed suicide by jumping in front of the train or was crossing the track when she was hit.
“It is a matter of investigation. A police party is on the spot and further details are awaited,” he said.
