SRINAGAR: Expressing serious concern at the life sentences awarded to two JKLF cadres recently, Hurriyat (M) leader and the president of the Anjuman-e-Sharaie Shiayan, Agha Syed Hassan, on Monday said that the judiciary was being used as a weapon to suppress Kashmiri sentiments and exact revenge from pro-freedom forces in the state.
Paying tribute to Hazrat Imam Zain-al-Aabideen (AS), the son of Imam Hussain (AS) and the sole surviving male member of the latters contingent in Karbala, Agah Hassan said that by refusing to join hands with oppressors, Imam Zaid-al Abideen, had upheld the mission of the martyrs.
According to a spokesman, Agha Hassan severely deplored the recent sectarian clashes in lower Srinagar, saying that any member of the clergy openly playing up sectarian differences within Muslims was sure to have links with anti-Islam and imperialist powers.
But leading religious and pro-freedom organisations have discharged their duty admirably to foil the nefarious designs of the enemies, and reaffirmed their commitment to take all necessary measures to put an end to all possibilities of sectarian violence for good, the spokesman quoted the Agha as having said.
