SRINAGAR – Mirwaiz Saliskote and first Imam of Jamia Kargil Maulana Syed Mohammad Mosavi passed away at Kargil last night. He was 93.
First Imam of Jamia Kargil Mossavi, father of Executive Councilor of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil Syed Kazim Sabere, died at his Saliskote house.
He was former head of Jamiyat Ullama Huza-e-Ilamiya Asna Ashariya.
Thousands of people from all parts of Kargil joined the ‘ Nimaz-e-Jinazah’ despite below freezing temperature today.
He was later laid to rest at Saliskote grave yard. Mossavi after his initial studies in Kargil, had persued higher studies at Hawza Illmiya Najaf in Iraq.
