SRINAGAR – Police today defused a grenade found during repairs of the wall of a mosque at Malangam village in the North Kashmir town of Bandipore.
According to reports, a wall of the Jamia Masjid at Malangam was being reconstructed when the laborers found a rusted grenade from the spot. At this, the bomb disposal squad of the state police was called which neutralized the explosive device without causing any damage.
It could not ascertained immediately how the grenade had been placed near the Masjid. However, police have registered a case and started investigation in the matter. (KMN)
