SRINAGAR: Accusing the mainstream parties of creating misconceptions to pave way for secretarial disharmony, Hurriyat Conference (G) leader Syed Ali Geelani today urged Shia and Sunni communities to uphold unity and brotherhood.
According to statement issued here, he said that in some parts of the city, some miscreants were misleading the people by spreading rumours. Kashmir is famous for the religious brotherhood all over the world and history is witness to it. With the passage of time India is suppressing the voice of people here and under a planned conspiracy trying to create communal and sectarian disharmony, reads the statement.
There are no differences among Muslims over the greatness or stature of Hazrat Ali. Hurriyat is monitoring the situation and has established a four member committee to visit the affected areas and clear the misconceptions and rumours spread by vested interests, statement added.
