Appeals people to extend assistance to affected families
SRINAGAR – The Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani has expressed grief and sorrow over the heavy loss of property and livestock in a fire at Frislan, Pahalgam, and extended his sympathy with the affected families.
Geelani has appealed the people of neighbouring villages to come to the help of these affected families and extend their assistance for their rehabilitation. Wednesday in a press statement, Hurriyat stated that Syed Ali Geelani sent a team of Hurriyat members including Mohammad Altaf Shah, MohammadYusufMujahid and the membersof district committee of Islamabad visited the affected villages to ascertain the loss .The team distributed the blankets and daily need items for the affected families. The team was apprised by the locals that despite the tall claims of the administration no assistance was provided by the authorities. Syed Ali Geelani while expressing the deep sorrow and anguish said that this is an unfortunate that in the severe cold the affected families have to look after their innocent infants and livestock and added that it is the moral obligation and the major share responsibility lies on the locals and requested them to come forward and assist these families.
