Health officer forms team, Joint Comm attaches members
SRINAGAR (KNS) – Officers at the Srinagar Municipal Corporation are at loggerheads, with the Joint Commissioner issuing orders allegedly to override the orders of the Corporations Health Officer.
According to sources the corporations Health Officer (HO) Srinagar had established a ten member team of Food Safety Officers(FSO) for carrying out extensive inspections in the city with an aim to ensure quality essential commodities to the consumers. However, the Joint Commissioner SMC within two days of issuance of the orders, issued another order for attachment of four members of the FSO team, the sources added.
Sources told KNS, the order by HO was issued on 24 November vide No SMC/PS/HO/749-0194 wherein ten employees of the corporation were directed to perform the duties of FSOs.
Surprisingly, the Joint Commissioner issued an order on 26th November vide 2414 attaching Idrees Akeel, Merajudin Matta, Rafiq Ahmad Shah and Shahid Israr, with central office of the corporation.
