From the past few years KAHSMIRINK has been involved in structuring the concepts from Himalayas and helping small businesses with the needed knowledge to brand and expand their work. The group has been running campaigns on entrepreneurship, hunger, deteriorating and contamination of natural water resources, droughts and climate change where they have over twenty thousand young minds who are working with them at various levels in creating grass root level awareness about the impact of human habits on climate change and have made thousands of young people take their Climate Warrior Pledge to combat climate change.
Speaking on the closing ceremony Babar said that, “I could not help but go back to my own childhood and teenage years to recollect cultural influences that made me think the world of all attractive things was the West. Today, most of the times when references are made to India, the references are softly pointing to the strength of India’s diversity and its culture and the influence it has globally. I personally believe that there is a great richness and power in the culture and traditions of different states of India. The Vibrant Dogra Culture, the Warm Kashmir Culture and the Mystical Ladakhi Traditions that have a great endless ability to make a global impact. Be it the Cuisines, Handicrafts, Dances, Music, Yoga, Ayurveda etc. There is a great opportunity for branding, re-branding, packaging and presenting the goodness of our art, culture, tourism and heritage across the globe. In this process of branding, we also need to respect world cultures and understand that we need to hold on to the roots of culture to emerge as a destination which can attract the people from all over the world towards us. Kashmir has seen the worst decade where there has been no progress made and the youth is looking for opportunities to be a part of the growth story of India and actively participate. Our state almost owns Himalayas, and as individuals we should represent our art and culture with the same strength and vigour as Himalayas, as that character is in the blood of everyone in our state and branding all this properly is the need of the hour. The sooner you start loving your state and it’s mysteries truly, the world would want to know about it from you. It is a magical process and I believe that every individual of India needs to truly love their country for it’s art, culture and the various diversities it represents.
He shared his firm belief in the richness of the cultures and traditions of J&K, and his dream of making J&K as one of the most popular tourist destinations of the world. KASHMIRINK has been organising initiatives like round table conferences, tourism promotion activities, climate change awareness campaigns and many such events. Their conferences on Sufisim and Peace were the first among the series of round table conferences to highlight the state of J&K in the eyes of the world as a centre of natural, cultural and historical heritage. It is one of the major exercises to bring world cultures together with J&K in a systematic manner with national and international communities. A platform where the top notch intellectuals and state heads will put their views forward and the same would travel to various parts of the world through media in the most powerful way.
Babar explained that Silk Route was considered to be the first trans-continental trade route of human civilization, which played vital role in the transformation of culture, trade, religion, philosophy, science and technology between India and its extended neighbours. Throughout the ancient and medieval time, there had been uninterrupted exchange of population within the various regions at different level. Traders, scholars as well as religious preachers of different regions crisscrossed the boundaries despite change in the political boundaries. Their travels were certainly facilitated by large number of available corridors from Kashmir in the north to Sindh in the south as well as on our north western boundary. These corridors largely resulted in the regular exchange of merchandise among the regions. As a result, there was a continuous exchange of goods as well as Indian religious ideas with the neighbouring countries. At the same time, massive introduction of foreign elements also penetrated into the art and culture of India. Thus, The Silk Route greatly contributed not only economic prosperity of the region but also made great cultural transformation. We have taken the significance of this route where “Silk” was a currency in old days and now the currency is “Love and Knowledge”. The concept of Silk Route Megashow Series is to bring world cultures closer and work as a platform for Trade, Tourism, Culture, Youth and Idea Exchange Platform between India and over seventy Nations which fall on the ancient Silk Route.
The show has a spread out format in which various components of the show are being executed in different parts of the country which would contribute in shaping the big picture. The show has components like Food Festival, Sufi Conferences, Cultural Festivals, Fashion Shows, Chocolate Festival, Power Dinner, Travel Mart, War of Rock Bands for Peace, Youth Conclave, Flea Market, Cultural Franchise & Business Opportunity Show, Properties and Investment Show, Travel Mart, Press Conference Series, Kids Art Workshops, Documentary Screening, INCREDIBLETALKS, Art and Photo Exhibitions and a lot more. KASHMIRINK is looking for associates and alliance partners to scale this event series and take this event across India and into seventy nations. Plus they explained that their present effort is in structuring their work, as they have been working on building entrepreneurship models which are based on sustainable development of artisans, craftsmen, skilled and unskilled people of India. At this time they are forging some strong national and international alliances as various governments are looking at aligning with them in promotion of J&K, India and Himalayas across, which will open up massive trade and business opportunities for the youth and also create huge employment options for the youth. Silk Route International Megashows are now being supported by Incredible India, Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India, Indian Association of Tour Operators, Various Chambers of Commerce and growing forward there are various alliances which are shaping up for this unique and brilliant idea.
