SHOPIAN – As a part of drive to ban use of polythene in district Shopian, a committee constituted by Deputy Commissioner, Shopian and headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian conducted market checking today and seized 5.40 quintals of polythene on-the-spot from the shopkeepers.
The committee advised the shopkeepers to stop handling and use polythene and made them aware about the hazardous effect of use of polythene.
It was decided that the drive shall continue till complete eradication of use of polythene in the district takes place.
