DFP Launches Awareness Campaign On NRHM

SRINAGAR (ONS) – Directorate of field Publicity (DFP), a media unit of Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, working at the gross root level for making the people about the welfare schemes has kick started an awareness campaign in the state about centers flag ship National Rural Health Mission Programme.

According to a press statement Srinagar unit of DFP held a day long awareness camp and an assessment meeting in the far flung Bhatnoor area of Tral Block in Pulwama on Saturday. The experts from the health Department and opinion leaders from the area besides general public and student community in big number attended the day long awareness programme. Progress in Health care facilities and role of ASHAs in the tribal belt of the area was appreciated by the experts and the opinion leaders . The expert lecture by Dr Nisar Ahmad Bhat and community Health officer gave an elaborate presentation to the audience about various components of NRHM. Additional Director General Press Information Bureau, GoI J&K . Obaidur Rahaman was the chief guest on the occasion. He lauded the effort of DFP in reaching out to the people at such a far flung area. The programme culminated with a rally of villagers shouting slogans and carrying banners to motivate the people to come forward in large number for taking benefits from the flagship programmes like National Rural Health Mission. All the units of DFP are organizing many more such programmes throughout the state as part of a nationwide awareness campaign on various components of National Rural Health Mission.
