Incentive of Rs 12.08 Lakh provided among Sogam Farmers
SOGAM – In a bid to implement the emerging technologies and farm machineries aiming to boost the productivity and production per unit area, the Department of Agriculture organized Farm Machinery Melas at premises of Forest Rest House Sogam Lolab.
On this occasion Chief Agriculture Officer Kupwara M.A. Parray said that the objective of the Mela is to acquaint the farmers with modern agriculture machinery, tools and other equipments and also help them to avail benefits of various schemes at their door-steps. He said that Mela facilitate farmers to select the agriculture machinery and equipments of their own choice at negotiated rates from authorized dealers. He advised farmers to adopt double cropping in their fields and not to leave their fields without cultivation of crops during Rabi season.
Stalls of various authorized dealers were setup in the Mela. The farmers of Sub Division Sogam purchased 5 Tractors, 5 Power Tillers, 51 Irrigation Pump Sets, 10 Foot Sprayers and 120 Tool Kits, for which incentive of Rs 12.08 lakhs were provided.
Among others, District Officers & field functionaries of the department and the large number of farmers were present on the occasion. Farmers appreciated the efforts of Agriculture Department for organizing such Melas.
