Srinagar (ONS) – A Pak-administered-Kashmir resident, who had come across the LoC to celebrate Eid with relatives in Poonch after a wait of 48 years, has died of heart attack on this side.
Sixty-five-year-old Muhammad Shafi, who had migrated to PaK in 1965, corssed the LoC on October 15 this year on a permit to visit relatives in Poonch and Rajouri, reports said.
Shafi had come specially on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, and was with kin in the Draba village where he had visited the gravesite of his mother.
While meeting relatives in Rajouri two days ago, he had complained of chest pain and had been admitted to the district hospital where he breathed his last soon afterwards.
Doctors attributed his death to cardiac arrest.
District authorities sent his body back to PaK over the Chakan-da-Bagh crossing in Poonch after legal formalities.
