Srinagar – Amid Eid rush, the government Friday sealed Hat Trick, Karan Nagar, a prominent fast food chain after they were found overcharging consumers on the Eid eve,

According to government spokesperson, the market checking squad inspected various shops and sealed Hat Trick, Karan Nagar for overcharging the customers. During the inspection Rs 25,000 were also recovered from various shop keepers including Mughal Darbar, Land Mark Karan Nagar as fine.

The marketing checking was carried on the directions of the deputy commissioner, Srinagar.

We have sealed various shops for profiteering the consumers on the Eid eve and we have collected fine from them as well, deputy commissioner, Srinagar, Baseer Ahamd Khan told the Kashmir Observer

This will remain a permanent process for the whole year, especially during winter season because we normally get complaints about gas dealers, milk vendors and bakery shops and various other shops, so they will be strictly monitored now, he added.

Asked would the profiteering shop keepers be punished, Khan said

Of course there are some strict laws under which they will be treated and if we find any shop keeper continuously violating the law, they will be taken with iron hand and their licences would be cancelled, he said.
