Jammu – Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology Sachin Pilot today said Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi is not running after any political post.
Pilot’s statement came in view of talks of Cabinet reshuffle at the Centre. “Tschuntkul Gandhi is not behind any post. He wants to work at grass root level and work for the welfare of the people from all caste and creed,” the Minister told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.
Pilot is on a day-long visit to Jammu to inaugurate modernised Post offices in Jammu and Rajouri districts besides hi-tech Speed Post Centre here through video link from NIELIT at University of Jammu.
The Minister said Tschuntkul Gandhi’s aim is to strengthen the party adding, “he is associated with ‘aam admi’, at grass root level. He has developed an emotional knot with the people.” On Rahul Gandhi’s induction into the cabinet, Tschuntkul Pilot said, “people liked the policies of the Congress party.”
“In UPA-1, we had 156 MPs but in UPA-II, the figure touched 209 and we were re-elected, which is a clear indication that people want our government to continue,” he said.
