Rattle Power Generation Capacity Raised To 850 MW
Srinagar – The cabinet which met here today with the chief minister, Omar Abdullah, in chair, approved the release of seven per cent dearness allowance (DA) in favor of government employees, pensioners and family pensioners in cash with effect from July 2012, raising the total DA from 65 to 72 per cent. The DA enhancement will also apply to work charged/whole time contingent paid employees working in regular time scale.
The additional burden on the state exchequer due to the DA increase will be Rs. 500 crore annually and from July 2012 onwards around Rs. 335 crore, an official handout said.
In another decision, the cabinet approved the enhancement of power generation capacity of Rattle hydroelectric project from 690 mw to 850 mw and accorded administrative approval to the water supply scheme for Kishtwar town at a cost of Rs 53.15 crore under Special Task Force.
