Samba – Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr S S Slathia today attended the Dusserah celebrations at Gurha Slathia where a large number of people watched the burning of effigies of Ravana, Kumbhkarna and Meghnath.
The Minister joined the function which started with the chanting of slogans and symbolic arrival of Lord Rama Rath, signifying the victory of good over evil.
Later, huge effigies of the demon king and his aides were set ablaze amid chanting of slogans in praise of Lord Rama by a large number of people from Gurha Slathai and adjoining areas.
The Minister greeted the people and hoped that the day would usher the state in the era of peace and prosperity.
