Kashmir Jugular Vein of Pakistan: Nawaz Sharief

Srinagar – Describing Kashmir as the jugular vein of Pakistan, Muslim League (N) President Mian Nawaz Sharief has said that Pakistan will stand by Kashmirs through thick and thin till their struggle is taken to its logical goal.
Sources told KNS that senior Hurriyat (M) leader and Chairman of Muslim Conference Abdul Gani Bhat met Former Pakistan Prime Minister Main Nawaz Sharief at his residence in Lahore.
During the two hand half hour meeting between the two, Bhat, according to sources, told Nawaz that the people of Kashmir are in favor of friendly relationship between India and Pakistan but their demand is to solve the K-issue first.
He told Nawaz that the solution of K-issue is necessary for peace in the entire south Asia.. He told Nawaz in clear terms that the relationship between India and Pakistan cannot remain normal for long, if the K issue is ignored.
Bhat, during his meeting with Nawaz emphasized that K-issue should be given priority over all other issues and dialogue should be initiated for the permanent solution of Kashmir.
He informed him that the people of Kashmir are considering Pakistan and its people as custodians of their struggle, but the recent attitude of the Pakistani leadership has disappointed the people of Kashmir.
During this meeting Bhat emphasized that Pakistan should use its influence and initiate tangible steps for the resolution of Kashmir. He told him that the India and Pakistan should immediately come on the table for K-issue and should resolve it for the permanent peace in south Asia.
Sources told KNS that the two also exchanged the ideas about the upcoming visit of the Kashmiri leadership to Pakistan and Nawaz informed Bhat that Pakistan is keenly looking forward for the visit of Kashmiri leadership.
Nawaz assured Bhat about the moral, political and social support of Pakistan to the people of Kashmir for their cause. He told Bhat that Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan and it (Pakistan) will put every effort to keep Kashmir with it.
Sources told KNS that during this meeting Kulsum Nawaz, Parvaiz Rasheed, Peoples Conference senior leader Khaleel Mohammad Khaleel, Manzoor ul Bhat and Mushtaul Islam were present on the occasion. (KNS)
