Mumbai: It is not known yet that where filmmaker Yash Chopra caught dengue. In order to know that, Mumbai’s municipal corporation has asked for the medical reports of the film maker.
Yash Chopra died on Saturday, but it still has to be found that how he caught it. The officials said that before he got admitted to Lilavati hospital in Bandra, he was in Kashmir. So, there is confusion whether he was affected by dengue-causing mosquito in Kashmir or in Mumbai.
Manisha Mhaiskar, who is acting as Additional Municipal Commissioner, said as far as Mumbai’s dengue cases are concerned, a significant decline has been witnessed in the mosquito-breeding areas as well as in reported cases.
While talking about cases that have been reported in regard to dengue are 702, four deaths have taken place in the state. The recent death case of Yash Chopra has led the authorities concerned to carry out an investigation on the state.
Whosever will be found breaching the hygiene will have to face dire consequences. “Dengue mosquitoes find favourable breeding climate during this period. Dengue cases have risen all over the country, not Mumbai alone”, said, Dr Arun Bamne, who is civic executive health officer.
