HT, LT lines to be improved in Haji Bagh HMT
Srinagar: Minister of State for Power, Forest and CA&PD and Transport, Mr. Shabir Ahmed Khan has said that due to concerted efforts of the government power infrastructure has been upgraded to a large extent during last over 3 years in the State, adding that this helped to provide improved power supply facilities to the consumers.
Addressing today a massive public gathering at Haji Bagh HMT, the Minister said that a chain of grid stations and high transmission lines were taken up during last over 3 years, of which the construction of number of grid stations and high transmission lines have been completed while as several are near completion, adding that in this regard focused attention have been given for setting up of grid stations to every district.
The Minister said that government endeavors to improve high and low transmission lines across the state, for the purpose the centrally sponsored schemes like, RGVVY, APRDP and R-APRDP are under implementation in all the districts of the State.
Mr. Shabir reiterated that government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah was committed to provide improved basic facilities to the people of the State. He said in this regard a number of innovative and reformative steps have been taken by the government for up gradation of infrastructure under core sectors especially under R&B, PHE, Power, Education, Health sectors, which now have yielded better results at grass root level.
The Minister hailed the UPA government for providing liberal financial assistance for all round development of the State and hoped that Centres will continue its helping hand to the State Government for making Jammu and Kashmir a developed State.
Responding to the demands of the Haji Bagh Inhabitants, the Minister directed Power Development Authorities for formulation of detailed project report for making improvement in HT and LT Lines in the area. He assured the people that all their genuine demands would be mitigated on priority.
During the tour, the Minister visited various areas of HMT and assessed electricity problems confronting people in these areas. He directed concerned authorities to pay focused attention for redressing peoples genuine demands.
On the occasion, several senior congress leaders among which district president JKPCC, Mr. Abdul Gani Khan addressed public gathering and highlighted programmes and policies of the government. They also threw light on various achievements registered by the government during last over 3 years for development of the state.
