Ramnagar – The Tehsil Legal Services Committee Ramnagar organized a Lok Adalat cum legal awareness camp for senior citizens and intellectually challenged people at Chowki village of Ramnagar tehsil here on Friday.
The camp was organized under the chairmanship of Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Sandeep Kour.
A large number of senior citizens, intellectually challenged people, guardians of the intellectually challenged children, Sarpanchs, Panchs and civil society members attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman elaborated legal rights and asked the people to get benefit of free legal services under the scheme of intellectually challenged people as well as under the scheme of physically challenged persons. She highlighted the provisions of international agreement on child rights, provisions of the Indian Constitution for the welfare of child, laws relating to restraint of child from industrial labour, provisions of Indian Penal Code, Juvenile Justice Act, Right to Education Act etc. She also made the participants aware about the concept of Lok Adalats.
