Srinagar – 215 meter long Chimmer Bridge constructed over Bushi nallah at cost of Rs. 7.76 would be opened for public by the end of November.
Minister of State for R&B, Javed Ahmad Dar today reviewed the progress of on-going road projects coming up in Kulgam district.
The minister was informed that Rs. 14.33 crore has been earmarked for construction of Laro Bypass road and Rs. 3.95 crore are being spent on the project in the 1st phase.
It was told that work on polytechnic project coming up at the cost of Rs 18 crore has been going on while Rs. 5 crore are being spent on construction of DIET and Community Centre in the constituency.
Meanwhile, Rs. 8.76 crore stands expended Kulgam-Chambgund road coming up in Kulgam constituency.
The meeting was informed that Rs. 14.33 crore has been earmarked for construction of Laro bypass road and Rs. 3.95 crore are being spent on the project in the 1st phase. It was told that work on polytechnic project coming up at the cost of Rs 18 crore has been going on while Rs. 5 crore are being spent on construction of DIET and Community Centre in the constituency.
The Minister asked engineers to come up with a proposal for up-gradation of interior links in the constituency and also speed up work on under execution roads and other development projects taken up in the district. He said road connectivity is the basic need of the people and directed engineers to take proper care of roads which need immediate maintenance.
MLA, Kulgam, M. Y. Tarigami, MLC, Mohammad Amin Bhat besides senior officers of R&B and PMGSY were present on the occasion.
