Udhampur – To finalize arrangements for Dussehra and Eid-ul-Azha in Udhampur town, the Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, . P.K Pole convened a meeting of District Officers and prominent citizens of the town, here on Monday.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, . Surat Singh, Engineers of PDD, PHE, and R&B, Chief Medical Officer, Dy. Controller, Civil Defence, Officers of Police, Municipality, Fire Services, Traffic, President Dusserha Committee, Administrator Auqaf, . Shakeel Shah, members of Dussehra and Eid Celebration Committees, Prominent Citizens attended the meeting.
It was decided in the meeting that the main function of Dussehra would be held at Sports Stadium, Udhampur where the effigies of Ravna, Kumbkarna and Meghnatha would be installed and consigned to flames. Various issues related to the celebration of Eid-ul-Azha were also discussed in the meeting.
The meeting discussed the arrangements like drinking water and power supply, security, sanitation, Medicare, seating and barricading and the concerned departments were made to take measures for the same.
The DDC directed the officers of PHE to make arrangements for barricading and drinking water supply, while the PDD was asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the festival days.
Similarly. The health department was asked to make available adequate number of ambulances, while Fire and Emergency Department was asked to deploy fire tenders at the main sites of the function.
