Awareness camps to be organised at every Panchayat Halqa
Srinagar – World Food Day is being observed all across the Valley on October 16 as the foundation day of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. The theme for World Food Day-2012 has been chosen as Agricultural Cooperatives – Key to feeding the World.
The Day is basically aimed at creating awareness about latest research and technology for enhanced food production to combat hunger.
World Food Day will be observed as Mass Awareness Day by the Directorate of Agriculture, Kashmir. Mass media campaign will be conducted in which one technical expert will be deployed for each Panchayat Halqa who will impart technical guidance about local Agriculture, awareness about all operational schemes with available incentives to the farming community and also awareness about the chosen theme.
