Samba: Minister for Industries and Commerce, . Surjeet Singh Slathia today felicitated thirty students and sportspersons of this border district for showing outstanding performance in academics and sports.
The students were honoured at a function organised by a local social organisation, Peoples Forum for Human Values Samba to mark its foundation, here at the historical Samba Fort premises.
MLA Samba, . Yashpal Kundal presided over the function while Deputy Commissioner Samba, . Mubarak Singh and Chairman JCC Bank, . Mohinder Singh were guests of honour.
The forum, working for the eradication of social evils with main focus on to put an end to illegal activities including narcotic smuggling, was established in 2007 by late Hoshiar Singh, a famous social activist of the district.
